We recently received an email with an alarming warning. Supposedly your driver's license might be on the internet for all to see.
I even went ahead and wrote a quick article about it providing the link so people could go in and remove their name.
Of course I was fooled. I never went ahead and checked it out. A few days later, while talking to a friend, I learned that it was a hoax. If you type in your name you get a driver's license photo of a baboon with a chastisement that you have been fooled.
So do not believe anything on the web. This goes beyond these occasional jokes but to any web site. Whatever you are reading, you must question the goals of the author. Are they trying to sell something? Are they trying to win you to their cause? Or are they trying to separate a fool from his money?
